Melissa Anne Clay is the 17-year-old daughter of Leslie Clay. She was born in Meridian Mississippi and raised in Quitman about 30 minutes south.
Melissa has been homeschooled her whole life and was a part of Meridian’s homeschool group (MCHE) for 9 years where she participated in several clubs such as book club, art club, yearbook staff, school photography, and choir.
She also participated in theatre, karate, T-ball, and became fluent in sign language. She was a part of MCHE up until 11th grade and then came to join SCHE to finish out her senior year.
After graduation, she hopes to attend MCC to do her basics, and later study at UMMC School of Medicine to become a pediatric doctor.
One of her favorite bible verses is, “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.. - Isaiah 43:2 “
