Riley Addison Blackford is the middle child of Quint and Carolyn Blackford. Raised on a small family farm, Riley learned very early in life the value of milking cows and raising chickens. He is a second-degree black belt in NPS Taekwondo and plans to progress to a third-degree. Two years ago, Riley turned his love of carving wood on the lathe into a business. He carves spoons, bowls, plates, and other small items to sell at local festivals and gift shops. Riley also enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding horses. A highlight of his homeschool years has been playing SCHE football since he was five. Riley plans to continue working with wood and see how the Lord guides his steps. A verse he has grown to love is Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”
