April Burkis is the oldest girl of nine kids. She has enjoyed being homeschooled her whole life. Her favorite hobbies include wood burning, spending time outdoors, and making memories. She loves playing soccer and softball and even tried her hand at basketball this year. Her plan is to pursue a career in child care. One of April’s favorite verses is Psalms 28:7: “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.” She would also like to mention her parents, Todd and Rayna. God’s guiding hand and their teaching, support, and never-ending love are what have gotten her this far.
