Emma Kathryn Burkis, daughter of Todd and Rayna Burkis and the youngest of 9, has been homeschooled her whole life.
Her favorite hobbies include listening to music, singing, fishing, hunting, playing pickleball, art, spending time outside, and spending time with family and friends.
She has also enjoyed soccer and played with SCHE soccer from ages 6 to 15, when she experienced a knee injury.
Through her injury, she developed an interest in therapy and plans to pursue a career as a pediatric physical therapist assistant.
Emma has found encouragement through Psalm 121:1-8, “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth … The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade on your right hand …The Lord will keep your going outand your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”
