Dorrie is the daughter of Julia and Joseph Diaz. She was born in Shanghai, China, and moved to Starkville, Mississippi, nine years ago. After three years of public school, her family decided to homeschool. She has really enjoyed being a part of SHMC.
Since she was tiny, music and art have always been an integral part of her life. Joining band and playing with her youth worship team only deepened her love of music. She plays clarinet and is self-taught on several instruments. She loves singing and has played several local gigs with her band, A Goat Named Darrell. At 15 she started an art business vending at local art shows. She's currently learning how to run markets and is working with SAAC to teach classes.
Dorrie is hoping to continue her art and music while seeking what God wants for her life. At the end of the day, she desires to be a wife and a mother.
